File First Time Login - New Student

Welcome to IMU! This guide is designed to help you navigate your first steps as a new student. In the attached documents, you'll find detailed instructions on how to log in for the first time, change your default password, and access essential campus resources prior to the enrollment day.

File How to Reset Password & Unlock Account using SSPR

The attached guide helps you to Reset Password OR Unlock Your Account using Microsoft Self Service Password Reset page. We highly recommend students to use this website to for the following situation 

a) Your student account is about to expire in 30days, and you would like to change your password

b) You receive an error message "Invalid Username and Password" when login

c)  You receive an error message " Your account has been locked"

d)  You have forgotten your password

Note: For assessment (Online exams) 

We suggest that you should verify your password a few hours before the assessments. One way to verify is to visit https://oas.imu.edu.my/TNA/TestPlayer/Login/Login.aspx and try logging in using Azure Login. When you realize that you have forgotten your password, you could then perform the steps in the attached document.

File Printing Guidelines

The attached documents guide you through steps by steps on how to use the printing services which includes

a) First time login & Login method to Canon MFP

f) How to reach out the Canon Careline Support 

You can always drop an email or call Canon Careline Support for immediate support. They are also available to provide physical support (Every Tues & Thu from 8.30 am to 5.30pm) near ITS office.

File Virtual Desktop Guideline

IMU has implemented the virtual desktop environment to assist students to access specialized software that requires a special license for authentication and cannot be installed on personal devices.

This solution currently supports the following key applications:

• NutriPro: Nutrition and dietician analysis software.

• IBM SPSS: Statistical analysis software.

• ChemDraw: Chemical structure drawing software. IMU plans to progressively include all relevant teaching and learning software in the VDesktop environment

File How to Connect Campus Wi-Fi

To connect to our campus Wi-Fi, you can use the following SSIDs for your devices:

 BJ Campus: Student@IMU or Student_5Ghz,

LiT Campus: Student@LiT

We encourage students to immediately reach out to the ITS helpdesk or use the MyIMU app to submit an ITS feedback form if you encounter any issues with internet/Wi-Fi connectivity. Connectivity issues may vary for each student and reporting them will help the network team troubleshoot and resolve the problems more effectively. Thank you

File How to Setup Multiple Factor Authentication (MFA)

IMU has implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all student and staff accounts as part of its security features. MFA is an electronic authentication method that requires users to provide two or more forms of identity verification before they are allowed access to a website, network, or application. This helps prevent your account from being compromised.

The guide shows how to activate MFA using the Microsoft Authenticator app, which is the recommended method of verification to support students accessing IMU materials outside the campus using different Wi-Fi connections or devices.

Please inform the ITS Helpdesk whenever you update your contact details, especially your phone number and email ID. This will ensure you receive MFA notifications.

The attached guideline is step by step guide how you could install Office 365 apps to your personal devices especially when you have a lower version of Microsoft Office such as Office 2019, Offie 2021.

As long as you are an active student in IMU, you can enjoy this benefit.

These slides give you an insight of MS Team if you would like to understand how to this apps.

IMU unified communication across faculty corporate and students is via MS Team. Your respective lecturer will create channel to communicate with you for Teaching and Learning related activities. You can also create your own teams' group to engage with your peers for any discussion. Do let us know if you need further assistance.

File How to " Forget Network" Your Personal Devices

Dear Students,

Before resetting your password, please ensure you "Forget Network" on all personal devices connected to the Student Wi-Fi.

If you do not perform these steps, your account will be automatically locked because it will still be connected with your previous password.
