Microsoft Teams is a chat and collaboration platform in Office 365 suite that allows you to deliver presentations, facilitate group discussions, and join learning classes remotely. Microsoft Teams is a part of Office 365 application. All currently-enrolled students are able to download and use Teams, in addition to the entire Microsoft Office suite.
How Do I Access Microsoft Team?
You can access Teams from web browser (Office 365 Portal), downloaded desktop application and mobile app.
Step 2: Log in with your Student ID and Password (Your IMU username and password).
Step 3: Click "Teams" icon.
How Do I Find My Class In Teams?
When you sign in to Microsoft Teams, you will be able to see teams that you are a part of (example as below). A team is a group of your teachers and classmates, conversations, files, and tools that are all in one place.
To join the class, click the your team.
How to Participate In My Online Class Session?
There are multiple channel within a team. A channel is a discussion in a team, dedicated to your class or topic.
There are various tabs on top of the page as shown below.
How Do I Join a Live Class Session/Meeting?
Let's learn the steps.
Step 1: Once your lecturer created the live session and invite you, you will received this invitation in your email.
Step 2: Click "Join Microsoft Teams Meeting" link as shown in the image below.
Step 3: The page as shown below will be displayed. Click "Join Now" button.
Step 4: In the live session, you are able to do the activities as labeled below.
Make sure to turn off your mic once you join the live session. Enable it if you have question to ask your lecturer.
Download the Teams app on your smartphone and have access to all your classes there. This will also allow you to get notifications when you have a new assignment available.
Stay on top of your assignments and due dates by checking in daily.
Remember, to get in contact with your lecturer via email or posting a question using chat feature in Teams if you have any questions or problems.
