      At the end of this session, students will be able to:

      LO1: relate the five steps of the nursing process to the administration of medications
      LO2: discuss the seven rights of medication administration
      LO3: describe the key points that must be incorporated into the assessment of a patient receiving a drug therapy
      LO4: describe the essential elements of a medication order
      LO5: outline the important points that must be assessed and considered before administering a drug, combining knowledge about the drug with knowledge of the patient and the environment
      LO6: describe the role of the nurse and the patient in preventing medication errors
      LO7: apply the steps of nursing the nursing process in client teaching

      LO8: appreciate the importance of understanding and complying to these responsibilities to ensure patients’ safety
