This written scientific report will contribute 60% of total marks for this module.
Students are required to write a scientific report with approximate 3000 - 4000 words. The use of figures and tables to aid explanation is highly encouraged.
Instruction:
1. Choose a gastrointestinal/respiratory/immune/diabetes/endocrine/cancer/mental disease that you are interested in. Explain the epidemiological aspect of the disease.
2. Discuss the molecular and cellular pathways of this disease.
3. Discuss the current technology/methodology used to identify new molecular target and develop new treatment.
4. Identify the research gap of this disease (what important aspect is yet to be studied).
5. Propose an research idea to address the research gap mentioned above. Explain your rationale.

Based on the scientific report that you have prepared, prepare a 15 minutes presentation to present your research and idea to your peers and lecturers. This will be followed by a 5 - 10 minutes question and answer question. For ODL student, you need to record the video of your presentation and the Q&A session will be replaced by written response in Teams. For conventional student, this will be a sync session.
